Georgia police arrest man for suspected drunk driving

A man in Alpharetta was arrested after an accident result in his vehicle being totaled, according to local sources. Georgia police say the unidentified man was arrested in the early morning of Oct. 12, and he is now charged with a variety of infractions, including drunk driving. So far, no court date has been announced publicly. When the man faces his charges in court, he will likely be represented by a criminal defense attorney.

According to police in Alpharetta, the man was encountered traveling some 130 mph on a local highway when officers initiated a chase. The man reportedly fled the scene in his vehicle, even speeding up according to the officers chasing him. The driver then lost control of the vehicle, which struck a median before flipping over a guardrail.

Miraculously, the man was almost completely unharmed in the accident and was immediately arrested by officers on the scene. He now stands charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, speeding, driving with an open container and fleeing law enforcement. If is unclear whether he is currently in police custody, or if he has been released on bail.

Thankfully no one was hurt in this accident, but Georgia law enforcement authorities still treat drunk driving very seriously. If he is found guilty, he could face prison time, the loss of his license and other penalties. However, he is entitled to his day in court, and an attorney will carefully review the facts of the case and build a strong defense from the results.
